Portable test burn : burning man

by on Sep.09, 2013, under Uncategorized

I made my Shapeoko portable for burning man. The plan was to laser etch messages on the temple and the man. I tried to make a battery pack with 5 tenergy 18650 cells, but  ended up using a 18.8v drill battery pack to power it. I couldnt get my tinyg to turn off and on the laser so I just turned up the seek speed :)

Here are some photos of some of my shapeoko designs. Got some 3d printed belt tensioners with acrylic support, and motorplates with integrated support. These are for a 2W laser etcher, so lighter is better :)
